Otis R Potter, No 150 Mott St. Wants several persons acquainted with the cutlery business-

No. 5   Bridget King just released from Blackwells Island – produced a few lines from Marcus Mitchill 174 Greenwich St in which he says she “is I believe sincerely desirous [sic] of reforming her life by forsaking the way of sin. She has been looking for a chance of escape from the Brothels which are open to receive her” – She says that she has been spending a few days at a miserable grogery in Orange Street. At her request I procured her admittance into the Alms House – See M Mitchills letter on file.

James Rice has procured employment as a cooper (having learned the business at Sing Sing) with Peter Maxwell 22 West St- Furnished him with the following tools. Viz 1 Coopers Adze handled -  1 Leveller- 1 Howell – 1 Axe – 1 Stave knife – 1 Hollowing – 1 pair compasses – 1 Drawing knife – 1 Double Iron Smoothing plane. The whole amounting to $11.38. Per bill, which he promises to pay as soon as he can earn the money.

Lent Francis H Jones. One dollar to pay for his board – Procured employment for him with Otis R. Potter – he expects in future to maintain himself and hopes soon to refund the amount loaned him.      [Signature] Francis H Jones

Moses Ballou of this City paid two dollars for his subscription for membership in the Prison Association $2-

William C Russel sent to the office, cast off clothes viz. 2 vests, one pair drawers, and one pair of Stockings and a coat. 

Gave Eli Cane one vest, one pair drawers and one pair of stockings, being part of the clothes furnished by WC Russel
